what if baskets were zines?
an experimental fusion project
(this site is a work in progress)
about this webzine
Basketweaving is a skill I picked up in the summer of 2025, when my wife and I celebrated our anniversary with a pattern kit. I became quickly absorbed in it, and have decided to document my journey through this webzine.

Each basket* is titled with a simple number to indicate its order of creation, which is inspired by edition numbering in printmaking. They are documented and given a home under the gallery page on this site. Each project page will share photographs and notes on that individual object, which may pertain to design, materials, whether I kept it (and what I'm using it for now), who it may have been woven for and/or given to, where it may have been sold, etc.
This webzine is primarily a project in documentation, inspired by years of reading doujinshi and other self-published passion projects, many of which include authors' notes in the margins or front/backmatter. I have long been fascinated by these notes, the way they seem to invite the audience to step past the performance of a finished piece and into the messy backstage. I hope to reflect that same spirit here.
Thank you for visiting, and please consider leaving a comment in the guestbook! My primary portfolio can be found here.
* Some may be coasters, trays, wall hangings, art objects, etc; all are made using basketweaving techniques
